We’ve left Thessaloniki and are in the air on the way back to Napoli.
Visiting the bespoke hatter was weird. He had a huge contraption that went over my head with rods. He’d push the rods in and that would measure my head. He spoke English really well and he said my head was “weird shaped.” He says I would be best off with a bespoke hat because my head didn’t conform to any normal shapes. I told him that I wanted hats similar to Stetson Metropolitans and he said that he was convinced Stetson had stolen his design for hats because they looked exactly like his bespoke Fedora line. I checked them out and they were absolutely beautiful hats, all made of 100% Canadian beaver. They’re all waterproof and weatherproof. Each bespoke Fedora is 1500 Euros, so they’re not cheap, but man alive, they’re good quality and absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to feel how mine fit.
I ordered six colours and styles and he said they should be ready in about a week and a half, so we can pick them up when we go on Jennifer’s honeymoon.
So far I’ve spent almost $100,000 on clothes and my conscience is bothering me. I feel guilty for spending that kind of money on something as pointless as clothes, so when we get back to Canada, I’m going to donate $100,000 of my own money to the Make-a-Wish Foundation (Amelie’s suggestion). That will clear my conscience.
In Napoli, we have to check on my suits and my shoes because they called and said they needed to do a fitting, so we have to do that, then we have to hurry back to Canada to make it in time for Jennifer’s wedding rehearsal.
We’re just about to have hors d’oeuvres and lunch, so I’d better go.
