I’m spending the day and evening with Amelie and Jennifer at their place. We’re going to party until about 2am or so and then Jennifer is coming back to my place for the night.
It’s been so long since I’ve been to a New Year’s party. It must be an entire year since I’ve been to one!

Amelie says that exact same thing. “Oh, Daddy, you are a one!” I’d never heard it before until she said it and now you’ve said it so it must be a common saying. Never heard of it.

Not super common these days. I tend to resort to it when I want to sound very old English. That or, ‘Oh, darling, how very droll!’

I’ve heard “very droll” before and even used it myself on occasion, but ‘you are a one’ is new to me.
