I had reservations for the three of us at the riverside restaurant last night. Dan picked me up and we immediately went to Jennifer’s place to pick her up, then Amelie’s place to pick her up. The bottle of Sherry and the glasses I put in the back of the limo paid off. We had a couple of drinks before we got to the restaurant.
Jennifer looked spectacular in her Alexander McQueen mini bandage dress, chocolate stockings and her Christian Louboutin heels. Amelie looked fantastic in her black spandex kitty suit with kitty ears. Jennifer was wearing her new mink eyelashes and looked amazing in them. Amelie just wore her usual eyeliner and lip gloss and she looked fantastic.
When we got to the restaurant, they ushered us into the private room where they had a table set up with 4 chairs. I told the waitress that I didn’t even know the room existed and she said, “it didn’t until yesterday.” So apparently, we were the first ones to use it.
The girls asked me to order for them.
For an appetizer, we had shrimp toast which is shrimp and sauteed onions blended into a pate and then placed atop bread and baked. Very good and the presentation was great. For soup, we had chicken noodle which was very hearty and a great comfort food.
For the main course, we had prime rib with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. Again, presentation was key and the chef didn’t disappoint. For salad, we had a Waldorf salad with homemade dressing. For dessert, we had dark chocolate Kahlua cheesecake. Spectacular. Cheesecake is my weakness anyway and so is chocolate, so when we saw this on the menu, I knew we had to have it.
We went through three bottles of wine with dinner.
We were pretty loud in the private room, but I figure it was definitely worth it. When we eat at Amelie’s house, we get pretty raucous, and we were about the same volume last night. It was worth the extra $50.
We took the girls home after dinner and Jennifer didn’t come spend the night at my place. Today is my day alone.
